Media Planner/Analyst

As a media planner at Nurun China you will possess up-to-date knowledge of the media marketplace and maintain relationships with key outside vendors. Over time, you will establish yourself within the company and with clients as an expert in the field of media. Team members in this role are expected to negotiate with media vendors and work with the eMarketing Director and Account leads to develop strategic recommendations that meet client-marketing objectives.

Media Planning
• Work with department heads to develop a strategic approach that will meet client objectives
• Lead in the development of the recommendation document
• Utilize media research tools and resources to aid in campaign development

Media Buying
• Develop Request for Proposals and field any vendor questions surrounding the RFP
• Evaluate returned RFPs and determine vehicle selections
• Develop the final buy recommendation and buy summary
• Present the recommendation to the client

Media Implementation and Maintenance
• Gathering of creative specs data for creative
• Developing insertion orders and purchase orders
• Trafficking, QA and monitoring of a campaign
• Invoice reconciliation/Bill-Pay process
• Manage cross-departmental issues/questions regarding campaign execution

Cross Media Analysis & Research
• Actively research online acquisition and retention strategies, and present findings to internal teams
• Manage and plan multi-channel campaigns, including but not limited to:
 o Paid search
 o Email
 o Syndicated content
 o RSS
 o Mobile content

Results Analysis
• Provide Measurement with necessary information and document framework to pull results data (e.g., measurement variables, buy summaries, etc.)
• Analyse the data with effectively with relevant measurement tools (e.g. Web Trends, Urchin, and Google Analytics)
• Develop and present a concise results deck highlighting the relevant learning gained and recommendations for future campaigns

Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor degree required in a marketing or social sciences course
• 1-3 years experience at the media assistant, planner or analyst level required. Multi-channel experience preferred
• Clear understanding of the interactive media planning and buying process
• Ability to understand client objectives and how they translate into media strategies
• Able to manage day-to-day program execution
• Solid understanding of general advertising and direct marketing performance metrics
• Understanding of the strengths/weaknesses of media research tools and how to effectively use them
• Experience of third party adserving and measurement tools
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Negotiation skills
• Time management skills
• Proficient in managing highly analytical advertising projects
