NEW YORK, October 26, 2011 – UM(Universal McCann) announced today that Yin Woon Rani will join UM as President of North America effective November 1st. Prior to joining UM, Rani was most recently at Grey Worldwide running the GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Team.
In her new role, Rani will be responsible for all regional UM operations, including planning and buying across all channels, as well as business development and the oversight of all North American accounts. She will be filling Jacki Kelley’s previous role, who was appointed Global CEO of UM in January 2011. Kelley has served in the dual role of Global CEO and President of North America since January.
As the President of North America, Rani joins existing UM cluster Presidents, Jim Hytner of G14 and Mauricio Sabogal of World Markets. This three clusters structure is a key aspect of UM’s new global operating platform announced earlier this year. UM’s 3.0 is a framework designed to provide integrated marketing and media solutions that drive business outcomes on behalf of clients.
During her tenure at Grey Worldwide, Rani has led successful agency teams across a range of well-known brands & clients across multiple categories. She has partnered with several Fortune 500 companies, like Procter & Gamble, M&M/Mars, the J.M. Smucker’s Company, Hasbro and GlaxoSmithKline where she was responsible for driving insights and strategy, creating custom solutions and coaching world-class cross-disciplinary teams working together to drive the best results for her clients.
