Account Manager

Our Client Services team serves as the first line of contact with our clients. They identify client needs and work strategically to provide thoughtful solutions with measurable results. Here’s what you should know if you want to be an Account Manager at R/GA:

On any given day you might

  • Serve as the key, day-to-day agency representative for our clients
  • Implement tactical plans and daily program execution to accomplish our client’s marketing objectives
  • Develop strategic and creative briefs on par with agency and client standards
  • Participate in the client planning process, including situation analysis, brand planning, and marketing plan development
  • Collaborate with creative and interactive departments to communicate strategy, review concepts and develop client presentations
  • Execute media management aspects of planning and execution

The ideal person

  • Has excellent public speaking skills and experience
  • Has a thorough knowledge of the principles of advertising, marketing and media
  • Uses an alternative analytical approach to solve interactive problems
  • Has experience identifying new client opportunities and can act as a liaison to pitch clients on such opportunities

You bring

  • 3+ years’ experience in developing interactive projects, and managing large creative teams and clients
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience with various projects types, including web, mobile, video, brand, and strategic consulting

Social Strategist

The role of a social skewed strategist at R/GA Shanghai will be to own all work that is related to social and to drive social thinking into creative work where it can add value to our proposals. However, no strategist at R/GA needs to be limited to just one area of strategy so there will be opportunities to think strategically beyond ‘social’ as well.

The social strategist is NOT expected to handle social media buying/planning or community management, however familiarity in these areas (particularly on process/tools etc) would be a bonus.

There are several facets to the role:

1. Project proposals and existing agency work / Pitches: The social strategist will drive strong social thinking to help:

  • Conduct social listening to learn about the audience and perceptions around the clients products
  • Springboard the creative team to great social creative ideas
  • Add value to our proposals by injecting social thinking and writing detailed social plans / roll-out plans across all key social media

2. Recommend tools that the client/agency can use to manage social media

3. R/GA prefers strategists who are quite hands on for proposal output so relatively good deck/slides skills is preferred

4. Ongoing client work: For retainer or regular clients the social strategists is expected to keep up to date with social media developments relevant to the client and proactively propose opportunities from time to time

5. Ideally the social strategist should be comfortable beyond thinking of social as pure digital/campaign work. A social lens could be applied to other areas such as systems/platform work, activation/event work, retail/ecommerce work, research work.

6. Regularly update the R/GA Shanghai team on the latest in social media in China and any great examples of new work that people may have missed

7. The work covers greater china as the main focus but occasionally input and support will be encouraged for regional level work or collaborative work or pitches with other social/strategists at R/GA in Asia (Tokyo/Singapore/Sydney)

8. From time to time the social strategist will need to provide a point of view on social media in China for other R/GA offices working on global clients that need China insight (New York / London)

  • Assist with day-to-day requests and communicate all pertinent information and requests to internal and external teams
  • Help manage delivery of client work, including presentation materials, in accordance with timetable
  • Provide administrative and logistical support on internal and external events
  • Manage and maintain R/GA wechat account

The ideal person

  • Native Mandarin Speaker who is fluent in English
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Has a solid understanding of social media channels
