Purpose of role

An exciting opportunity to be part of a new social brand that shapes the future of gold.

AKQA and the World Gold Council (the world’s leading authority on gold) are looking for a Community Manager to help launch a new brand that reinvents high-carat gold jewellery for a new generation – contemporary, bold, and full of attitude. You’ll own the social channel strategy, will be responsible for its success, and will sit at the heart of a team of people who are as equally passionate about style, music, pop culture and art as you.

You live and breathe all things digital and are an expert on social media. You’ll use your creativity to be the voice of a community: starting and maintaining conversations with our audience that will help guide the brand vision. But above all else, you’ll be keen to connect with and inspire a generation of young women.

Responsibilities:

Community management

  • Be responsible for Global social channel strategy and optimisation
  • Frequently monitor and moderate each Global channel
  • Engage with and be the voice of a community
  • Own the Global SMMS

Content management

  • Work with the Editor to curate and create inspiring and exciting content for the social channels
  • Manage the content calendar

Digital Influencer management

  • Potentially be the day-to-day liaison with our Digital Influencers
  • Help identify new potential Digital Influencers and manage information databases

Analytics

  • Track performance across buzz, social and web analytics
  • Work with the Analyst to produce integrated reports
  • Inspire WGC & AKQA team with insights that will help steer the strategic and creative direction of the brand

Internal social processes:

  • Help establish internal social working processes
  • To help make sure the social team think like a start up – quick to market, test and learn
  • Maintain these processes through monitoring and optimisation
  • Liaise with other WGC and AKQA team members

Skills and requirements:

  • Proven experience managing online communities
  • Proven experience in copywriting, journalism or editing
  • Extensive knowledge of and enthusiasm for social media channels
  • Experience using Content Management Systems
  • Experience using social listening and social media management tools
  • Experience producing reports and insights for channel and content optimisation
  • Ability to identify and embrace emerging stories, trends and style icons
  • Experience working across multiple global markets, particularly US, China and India would be advantageous
  • Desire and commitment to launch an online brand from scratch

Copywriter

REPORTS TO:  Associate Creative Director

SUMMARY

The Copywriter is responsible for the conceptualization and written elements of innovative and engaging digital experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Brainstorm, concept and collaborate on overall campaign ideas with creative team
  • Write copy, establish project’s tone and ensure it is consistent with brand guidelines
  • Provide and craft all written elements of creative projects
  • Take personal accountability for on-time deliverables
  • Work to develop client-facing presentation skills
  • Proactively identify and resolves issues
  • Always present work to ACD or CD before all internal meetings and client presentations
  • Stay aware of current advertising trends and industry innovations

Senior Account Executive

Reports to: Account Manager

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily contact with junior/mid-level Client to monitor and maintain work for effective results.
  • Recommend and develop Client communications.
  • Ultimately accountable to the Client for (and accordingly contribute to) the development of workable budgets, plans and timetables.
  • Ultimately accountable within the Agency for profitable project estimates followed by accurate and timely Client billing and bill payments.
  • Oversee that work is within scope and budget.
  • Manage broad assignments on a day-to-day basis ensuring smooth workflow with relevant Agency personnel.
  • Anticipate Client’s needs and work flow to ensure adequate Agency timelines and responsiveness.
  • Maintain daily contact with junior/mid-level Client to monitor and maintain work for effective results.
  • Consult and analyse project results with Account Supervisor.
  • Ensure that creative products are strategically sound and the Agency’s best work.

Senior Web Developer

Reports to:Technical Delivery Manager

Purpose of role

As a member of the AKQA Technology team you must be inspired by technology and have a passion for creating innovative technical solutions. You will contribute to AKQA’s founding values – Innovation, Service, Quality and Thought and will be excited about being part of our success.

You will love working in a team of highly skilled people, all with strong opinions about various technologies, frameworks and approaches to delivery. As a Senior Web Developer you will be responsible for maintaining client side components of development projects, and defining and implementing innovative web based solutions and development strategies. You will be required to deliver web pages and convert creative Photoshop documents and information architect wireframes into production-ready user interfaces whilst integrating into the specified integrated development environments (.NET, JAVA or other). As a Senior Web Developer you will be required to have basic object orientated programmer skills and have a basic understanding and ability to software engineer.

Web development

  • 5+ years experience and currently working with front-end technologies with experience of commercial web development, preferably in a creative or agency environment.
  • Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions: advanced CSS Float and box models, advanced CSS positioning and offsets.
  • Mastery of JavaScript fundamentals: statements, variables and data types; operators, conditionals, loops and functions.
  • Understands JavaScript objects and advanced form validation with regular expressions.
  • Understands browser CSS support (IE6/IE7, IE5) for Mac, Firefox, Mozilla, and Opera.
  • An ability to hand code HTML and CSS which looks beautiful cross-browser.
  • Excellent JavaScript experience is essential – not just jQuery.
