The Digital Strategist thrives at the intersection of business, consumer and technology by connecting the dots between cultural change, revolutions in technology and the unmet needs of consumers.   • The Digital Strategist will provide input behind any platform, tool and technology that is currently being used by consumers and identify the opportunities for brands to use them to create strong and provocative relationships with their consumers.
  • This includes monitoring the unfolding interactive universe and find opportunities for our brands to jump in with ongoing or campaign communication, deriving input that will inform how a brand can enable behavior and deliver value at any touch point, creating cumulative experiences that add up to the brand’s objectives.
  • The Digital Strategist will help lead projects that may include social media, brand activation, immersive brand experiences, customer relationship marketing and innovative applications of technology to provide solutions for clients’ business challenges. The Digital Strategist plays an instrumental role in ensuring our creative directives, client pitches and new business are developed with a platform agnostic mindset and can be further amplified and delivered through the digital ecosystem.
  • The Digital Strategist is primarily responsible for the campaign experience by providing a detailed analysis of all the campaign touch points, how they drive to one and another and how they create one holistic experience. He/she also needs to work towards developing a sound understanding of how consumers use different online spaces and identify how we can use them to extend creative concepts and achieve the brand’s objectives.
  • This involves planning and overseeing the development, preparation and implementation of strategic frameworks and guidelines that transform linear stories to become incremental brand elements that get dispersed systematically across multiple channels of conversations that build a unified and coordinated brand experience
  • Work in tandem with the Planning and Account teams to develop briefs by understanding how and why consumers use technology, providing input on the digital trail that people take in their everyday lives
  • Lead social media and other digital storytelling projects directly.
  • Contributes in developing briefs, pitch new business and managing initiatives
  • Interprets web and site-side analytics and incorporates information into point-of-views and strategies
  • Designs and conducts qualitative and quantitative research via focus groups, brainstorming sessions, and one-on-one interviews

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA or other related advanced degree desired
  • Fluent in both Chinese and English, spoken and written required
  • At least 5 years’ experience in strategic planning with a reputable digital agency, working with blue-chip clients and leading brands
  • Deep understanding of social media and best practices in China
  • Creative advertising agency and online campaign exposure preferred
  • A deep understanding of the interactive marketplace — tech, culture and trends
  • 5 years’ experience with interactive marketing, social media strategy, gaming and mobile technologies, web strategy, user research, and concept development and creation
  • Experience of two or more industry sectors, with some multi-channel experiences (e.g. SEM/SEO, Social Media, websites, web and mobile APP, digital outdoor, interactive installation, etc.)
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
  • Solid initiative, attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • After-hours work and overnight travel required
